The unique patented activation mechanism of the BD Insyte™ Autoguard™ catheter reduces the risk of needle sticks with just the touch of a button. Pressing the button releases a spring that allows the needle and flash chamber to retract in a controlled manner, completely into the safety barrel. Also, the notched needle technology provides rapid visualization of blood return along the catheter shaft, providing immediate confirmation of catheter placement.
